We are part of the Folk Alliance International approved house concert venues. As members, we are exempt from paying royalties to BMI and ASCAP. We ask that artists who perform here should avoid reporting their playlists if they belong to these organizations.
We accept independent artists as well as artists affiliated with BMI and ASCAP.
We are unable to accommodate artists affiliated with SESAC, nor can music licensed by SESAC be performed.

Musicians who wish to be considered for a performance at Riverdog should first consider the type of roots-Americana music that we focus on before contacting us.
We are focused mostly upon artists who create music, rather than simply perform it.
Although creative interpretations of the music of others is welcome as a part of any show, we generally do not consider "cover" bands or "tribute" bands. We have nothing against them, but it is not our focus.
We also mostly have artists who have a "focus" rather than willing to play any genre we wish. If your regular gig is a winery or wedding, it will probably not work here.

Unless you are locally known, it is unlikely that you will obtain a booking here unless you have the following:
1. Website
2. High quality photos
3. High quality videos.
4. A clear definition of what you are as an artist.
Although slick music videos may help us promote a show, for booking purposes, we prefer a video taken at a live performance. We highly recommend hiring a professional videographer who can record directly off the soundboard to minimize venue noise. We strongly recommend shooting the performance from multiple angles and have it professionally edited. Although this can cost some money, we believe it will pay off in the end with higher quality bookings.
If you are a touring band, Riverdog Is located about an hour from Cleveland or Akron. We are about 2 hours from Columbus and about 2 1/2 hours from Ann Arbor.
The bulk of our enquiries are from solo singer/songwriters. As much as we admire many of them, they are the toughest category to build an audience for so we can only book a very limited number of solo shows.
Our on-site sound system:
